Does anyone think that someone could compete with Myspace? I heard of a company that is launching a sort of Myspace knock-off, but they offer WAY more interactivity. They also have deals with record labels, production companies, agents/managers, designers, casting directors etc.. for people who want to break into the entertainment industry. From what I hear they will let users vote on the best musicians, filmmakers, models, actors etc... and the winners will get a deal with the appropriate people. I also hear that there will be TONS of contests, giveaways and WAY more features then Myspace. It's going to be all free as well. I am not sure on the name of the site, but heard it will be announced within 2 weeks. Anyone think they can compete with Myspace or share the popularity? I have also heard of deals with huge celebs endorsing this new site and actually going on to speak with users. Like 1-2 days a month a major celeb will be online taking questions etc...
Do you think anyone would...?
I would say that while myspace is alright, there was kind of a big boom and then people started to slow... not everyone stopped, there are still some avid users out there, mainly young kids but alot of people use is less regularly than the during the big boom. I see future websites following the same trend that all fads go through(ever heard of pet rocks) and I also would not be suprised to see a lot more similar websites poping up after the amount of money the creator of myspace got when he sold myspace. Which website comes out on top next will be due to the addtional features available like the voting on stuff and break out connections..
